ABOUT
GEDLER is an independent fashion label founded by Venezuelan-American designer Giancarlo Gedler.
Its story begins long before the label itself — in the mountains of Venezuela, where clothing was first understood through uniform, function, family, and the ritual of dressing.
School uniforms introduced a language of restraint: white, powder blue, and khaki shirts against navy trousers and black shoes. Outside of school came color, denim, stripes, and the first expressions of individuality. At home, clothing carried another vocabulary — the elegance of women who dressed with intention and the practicality of garments chosen to work, endure, and move.
Fashion remained an instinct before it became a profession.
After moving to New York, Gedler studied Visual Communications at the Fashion Institute of Technology while working within fashion production and backstage environments. He later pursued fashion design in Miami, eventually establishing GEDLER, presenting collections and opening an atelier in Downtown Miami.
Then came a pause.
Life moved elsewhere. The atelier closed, but the relationship with clothing never did. A return to aviation introduced another vocabulary: uniforms, movement, cities, function, departure, and arrival. Years spent moving between places changed the way Gedler understood what a wardrobe could be.
Returning to New York, GEDLER begins again — not from where it left off, but from everything gathered along the way.
AUTRE GARÇON marks this evolution.
The boy he was. The man he became. The person he has yet to meet.
At its center is ENTRE DEUX MONDES — an exploration of identity lived between places, cultures, tradition, and reinvention.
GEDLER approaches menswear through this duality: structure and movement, restraint and expression, elegance and function.
It is not about choosing one world over another. It is about carrying both.
